The Women Initiative For Greater Anambra (WIGA), Onitsha South Chapter came out in large number, chanting and druming their total support for the re-election of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo at the Political Rally held at Godwin Achebe Stadium Fegge, Onitsha South.
Speaking at the Rally, the Coordinator of WIGA, Onitsha South Chapter, Mrs.Ngozi Nwosu said that the group discovered Prof. Soludo years back when he successfully transformed the Banking Sector of the Country as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Mrs. Nwosu also said that the group popularly known as ‘Umunwanyi Soludo’ realizing Prof. Soludo’s capacity to deliver, went to his house to beg him to come and take Anambra State to its promised land.
“We are the women who went to Prof. C.C Soludo father’s house in Isuofia to beg him to come and shine his light in Anambra State. We know that he has the capacity to take our dear State to its promised land,” WIGA Coordinator said.
Mrs. Nwosu posited that the group was impressed that the governor did not disappoint them as he has constructed many basic amenities which the people are enjoying today.
She said that the governor was wise enough to utilize the available resources in the state to build roads as well as other projects which has earned him the title ‘Oluatuegwu’ while urging all residents in the state to ensure they cast their votes for All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) come November 8 election.
“We are happy that Prof. C.C Soludo who performed well as a CBN Governor is still doing wonders in Anambra State. He turned a refuse dump popularly known as ‘Ikpo Afifia Mountain’ to a ‘Water Fountain’ in Ochanja.
He constructed the road to Nwangene river which no governor in the state has touched before. Prof. C.C Soludo turned Niger street, Iweka road, Port-Harcourt road , Miss Elems, Ochanja Market and other areas in Onitsha South to wonders”, she said.
The WIGA Coordinator who also described the governor as a public oriented person added that many of her group members have benefited and are still benefiting from the newly built general hospitals as well as the free antenatal, free child’s delivery and free education policy of Soludo’s administration.
She said that no parents or guardian will have any excuse of not sending their children and wards to school as the governor has made life easy for all.
The coordinator commended the governor for building a world class recreational centre, Solution FunCity which has 34 buildings.
She, however, urged the governor to offer political appoitments to members of WIGA to compensate them for their total solidarity for him.
Also, one of WIGA Executive Member, Mrs. Chizoba Ezeja said,”nobody has the capacity to challenge Governor Soludo’s second tenure because of the incredible milestone he has achieved in his first tenure.
She added that her group was working hard to ensure that they deliver Soludo come November 8 poll.
