Onitsha North Local Government Area has continued to experience visible transformation under the dynamic leadership of its Mayor, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora, as reconstruction work begins on the Stock Exchange axis of Ridge Road, Onitsha GRA.

The long-neglected portion of the road, which had deteriorated over the years and caused persistent traffic gridlock, especially during peak hours is now undergoing comprehensive rehabilitation to restore smooth vehicular movement and improve urban mobility.

The project, which commenced yesterday, is part of the Mayor’s ongoing efforts to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s Solution Agenda aimed at revitalizing infrastructure and fostering economic growth across Anambra State.

Speaking during an inspection of the site, Mayor Nwora emphasized that the reconstruction of the Ridge Road axis is not just about fixing a road but about improving the quality of life for Onitsha residents and enhancing business activities within the GRA and surrounding areas.

“This project represents our shared commitment to making Onitsha North a cleaner, safer, and more connected community. We are working in line with Mr. Governor’s vision of creating livable and prosperous cities,” he said.

The Mayor further assured residents that the work will be completed with durable materials to ensure long-term sustainability, reaffirming his administration’s focus on practical, people-centered governance.

Residents have since commended the initiative, describing it as another demonstration of Mayor Nwora’s compassionate leadership and dedication to infrastructural renewal in Onitsha North LGA.
