The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has begun the data collection phase of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS7) in Anambra State.
According to the Bureau, households selected during the earlier mapping and listing exercise will be visited by trained interviewers for the survey.
The interviewers, who will be clearly identifiable by their official ID cards, will gather essential information needed for effective policy formulation and for monitoring the welfare of women and children across Nigeria.
The data collection exercise is scheduled to run from December 3rd to March 2026.
The Anambra State Bureau of Statistics, then, encouraged residents to fully participate when visited as the information provided will contribute significantly to the success of the survey and in the development of evidence-based policies that will benefit communities across the state.
The MICS survey considered one of the largest household surveys is conducted every few years, offering one of the most comprehensive assessment of the health, education and living conditions of children and women in the country.
