The Eric Nnamdi Anyamene Foundation, an organization that performs philanthropic and humanitarian deeds for under-privileged people, has rounded off its distribution of bags of rice to the down-trodden people living in Idemili North and South LGAs.

Founded by Engr. Eric Nnamdi Anyamene, an IT Engineering specialist, the Eric Foundation visited 17 towns in Idemili North and South LGAs to give the downtrodden people living in the areas bags of rice for their celebration of Christmas.

From December 17- 22, members of the foundation visited these towns for the rice distribution exercise: Obosi urban, Nkpor, Ogidi, Abatete, Eziowelle, Abacha, Alor, Nnokwa, Nnobi, Awka-Etiti, Umuoji, Uke, Ideani, Oraukwu, Oba, Akwa-Ukwu, and Ojoto.

According to Mrs. Hope Nche Egwu, an Obosi-born American returnee, who led the team in the rice distribution exercise, the reason for the distribution of rice to the downtrodden people is to ensure that nobody is left out of the commemoration of Jesus Christ’s birthday for the reason bordering on poverty.

“Engr. Eric Anyamene doesn’t want anybody not to celebrate Christmas on the grounds that he or she is unable to purchase rice, the staple food eaten by people during the yuletide,” Mrs. Egwu said.

The founder of Eric Nnamdi Anyamene Foundation, Engr. Anyamene, political aide to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, said that his good parental upbringing imbued him with the virtues of love, empathy, and generosity of spirit.

“While growing up, my family was a mecca of sorts for people, who were needy. And my father would offer them emotional and financial support.

” And I vicariously experienced their financial difficulties. That experience rubbed off on me. That’s why I have a disposition to help people,” Engr. Anyamene said.

The execution of philanthropic and humanitarian deeds for people during the Christmas is congruent with the teachings of Jesus Christ, which are centred on love.

In addition to its distribution of bags of rice to the lowly-placed people in society, it brought to the people good tidings, which are the Eric Nnamdi Anyamene Foundation sponsored free medical outreach as well as praise and prayer night programme.

While the prayer and praise night programme takes place at the Obosi township stadium on December 26, the free medical outreach will hold on December 27 and 28 at the Primary Health Care Centre, Afor-adike, Obosi.
