As count down to the inauguration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office continues,the Medical Director El-do- Rado Multi Specialist Hospital Awka, Prof. Chiemelu Emegoakor has awarded a passmark to his administration.
In a public press statement in Awka ahead of the inauguration scheduled for March 17, Prof. Emegoakor, the former Head of Surgery Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital Nnewi Campus, listed some of Governor Soludo’s achievements in office to include appreciable development in road infrastructure, improvement in the state health delivery system,etc.
According to the medical director, the governor in his second term in office, should address the strengthening of the primary healthcare delivery system in the state to reduce the incidence of infant and maternal mortality, beef up the state security network and step up the development of Awka the state capital.
In a message to the occasion, the Manager, St. John of God Secondary School, Awka Rev. Fr. Malachy Maduewesi awarded an excellent pass mark to Governor Soludo for a positive tremendous giant strides in some vital sectors of the economy such as in the security of lives and property of the state residents, improvement in the road infrastructure, and advancements in the education sector.
Fr. Maduewesi urged him to focus in his office, the strengthening of the security network yielding some positive results through his anti Monday sit- at- home policy.
He announced that St. John of God Secondary School, Awka has keenly recorded over 99 percent of teachers and students attendance to schools on Mondays even before government’s recent pronouncement against defaulting institutions.
The Manager further enjoined the governor to focus on extending government’s patronage to mission- public schools like their public schools counterparts are receiving, the building of a modern market at Igboukwu, the rehabilitation of roads in the community and the development of the power sector in the state to attract investors in the state.
The cleric disclosed the intention of the college to host its interhouse competitions comprising sports, talents shows, cultural fiesta and other competitions in the 2025/2026 academic calendar.
In another message, the Secretary General, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council and the Traditional Ruler of Uke, HRM, Igwe Surveyor Charles Agbala okayed Soludo’s development advances in his first term in office comprising breaking the 34-year- old jinx in building a befitting government house/governor’s lodge (Light House) in Awka , the dualization of major trunk A roads in the state and fixing of inner state link roads, as well as facilitating the interconnectivity of access to all communities in the state.
Igwe Agbala also eulogized the governor for his advances in the health sector, the education sector where he proclaimed and is implementing the free education policy in public schools in the state, and the improvement in the tourism industry through the actualization of the Fun city project.
The royal father urged the governor in his second term in office, to actualize his blue print in giving the state a world class rail line system, the Silicon Valley project nearing completion, others.
