The State Team of Development Governance International (DGI) Consult Ltd on May 18, paid a familiarization visit to the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Dr. Ezeka Augustine Uwaeme, at the Agency’s headquarters in Awka.
Speaking during the visit, the State Team Lead of DGI Consult Ltd, Dr. Uchenna Ezenwaka, congratulated Dr. Ezeka on his appointment as the Executive Secretary of ASHIA and described his emergence as well deserved.
Dr. Ezenwaka said that the purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the new leadership of the Agency and to further strengthen the longstanding relationship between DGI Consult Ltd and ASHIA.
According to her, DGI Consult Ltd has maintained a productive working relationship with the Agency over the years through the execution of several research and development projects aimed at strengthening the healthcare system in Anambra State.
She noted that the organization had successfully handled various research projects for ASHIA, including the development of the Agency’s Strategic Health Development Plan (SHDP) 2025–2029, adding that the team looks forward to sustaining the cordial partnership for greater achievements in the health sector.
“We have always enjoyed a good working relationship with ASHIA and we are optimistic that this relationship will continue to grow stronger under your leadership,” Dr. Ezenwaka said.
Responding ,the Executive Secretary of ASHIA, Dr. Ezeka Augustine Uwaeme, welcomed the delegation, appreciated them for the visit and their continued support to the Agency over the years.
Dr. Ezeka commended DGI Consult Ltd for its contributions toward health sector development in the state through research, policy support, and strategic planning initiatives.
He reaffirmed ASHIA’s commitment to sustaining partnerships with organizations and stakeholders whose activities align with the Agency’s vision of improving access to quality and affordable healthcare services for Ndi Anambra.
The ASHIA boss further assured the team of his readiness to strengthen institutional collaborations that would enhance healthcare financing, policy implementation, and overall health outcomes in the state.
Other members of the DGI research team present during the visit included Dr. Kassy Wilson Chukwukasi and Okamgba Urenna Chidimma.
