The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development in Anambra State, Barrister Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu, has urged staff of the ministry to remain committed to enforcing laws guiding physical planning and urban development across the state.
Barrister Ojukwu made the call during a meeting with the management staff of the ministry, emphasizing the need for strict compliance with regulations aimed at restoring order in the state’s urban landscape.

The commissioner observed that many residents of the state embark on building projects without obtaining the necessary building plan approvals, warning that such practices would no longer be tolerated.
He stressed that adherence to physical planning laws would help curb environmental disorder and reduce incidents of building collapse.
Barrister Ojukwu also commended the former management of the board for its efforts in revenue generation, while encouraging staff to intensify efforts toward improving the ministry’s revenue base.

“You have done well in revenue generation, but more effort is needed to improve revenue generation in the state, and we must make it happen,” he said.
Speaking during the meeting, Professor Ofonze Amucheazi (SAN) praised Barrister Ojukwu’s track record and described his appointment as well-deserved, citing his wealth of experience in corporate and commercial law.
Professor Amucheazi urged staff of the ministry to remain dedicated and committed to achieving the ministry’s mandate.
In his remarks, the General Manager of the ministry, TPL Ajuluchukwu Nwankwo, welcomed the new development, noting that the meeting provided an opportunity for management to better understand the ministry’s workforce and operational structure.
