Traders and market leaders at Eke Nri Market on Saturday 4th July carried out a general environmental clean-up exercise, reaffirming their collective commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and attractive trading environment.
The Chairlady of the market, Mrs. Lilian Nwagene, who led the exercise, thanked traders for turning out in large numbers and described the clean-up as a reflection of the market community’s dedication to peace, unity, and development.

“A clean market is a healthy and attractive market,” she said. “It creates a safe environment for both traders and customers and helps our businesses grow. I encourage everyone to keep their shops and surroundings clean at all times — not only on sanitation days.”
A trader, Mrs. Amaka Okafor, echoed the Chairlady’s sentiments, commending her leadership and expressing personal commitment to environmental hygiene.

“I enjoy keeping my surroundings clean, starting from my home. A clean environment promotes good health, peace of mind, and a better community. Let us all do our part to keep our homes and communities clean,” she said.
