The Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), has concluded a two-day capacity-building programme for graduating students at the Igbariam Campus on Aug. 20.

The programme, themed “From Classroom to Boardroom: Mastering the Secrets of Getting Hired and Staying Hired in a Competitive Market,” was aimed at equipping the students with practical skills and knowledge needed for a successful transition from the university to the workplace and business environment.

Speaking at the programme, the Head of Entrepreneurship Studies, Dr Jacinta Nwangwu, welcomed the participants and urged them to maximise the opportunities provided by the training to prepare for their future careers.

Nwangwu identified career readiness, networking opportunities and practical knowledge for enterprise development as some of the key lessons from the programme.

The consultant, Mr Paul Okafor, facilitated practical sessions on resume and CV writing, business ownership, entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship.

Okafor exposed the students to essential knowledge and strategies for positioning themselves effectively in the workplace and competitive business environment.

The Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Prof. N. K. Nwozor, commended the students for their active participation, describing the programme as successful and fulfilling.

Nwozor urged the graduating students to make good use of the knowledge, skills and opportunities gained during the programme.

He encouraged them to apply the lessons learnt as they transition from the university environment into the world of work and entrepreneurship.
