The Disability Community Circle Nanka in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra state has announced plans to honour philanthropist, Chief Ndubeze Ezeokoli (Ebube Nanka) CEO Visa group of companies, as an Ambassador for Persons With Disabilities.
This was made known during his 50th birthday celebration on 26th September, at his residence in Agbiligba Nanka, In recognition of his welfare and empowerment of persons with disabilities in the community.
Chief Ndubeze Ezeokoli described the act as a way of encouraging them and added that the foundation would support persons with disabilities who have skills or businesses but lack the funds to grow them, through sponsorship and other necessary assistance.
He empowered them with bags of rice, walking aids and cash gifts.
In response, the Chairman of Nanka Disability Community Circle, Mr. Olisakwe Anayo expressed his appreciation for including persons with disabilities in his birthday empowerment programme.
Mr Olisakwe prayed for him and assured him of the continued prayers of the disability community in order to sustain his support for persons with disabilities in Nanka.
Also speaking, the chairman Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities Orumba North Local Government Area and BOT chairman, Nanka Disability Community Circle, Mr Ikechukwu Ezeokafor, described Chief Ndubeze as a very humble and selfless person. Noting, that he has been one of the topmost sponsor to the organization.
Mr Ezeokafor commended him for his support for persons with disabilities, saying the community would honour him as an Ambassador for Disability Matters in Nanka in order for him to show others ways to impact on persons with disabilities and also for recognition of his contributions.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings and strength for the philanthropist to enable him sustain his good works and extend his support to more people in need.
Highlights of the event include celebration of Holy Mass of thanksgiving, cutting of birthday cake, empowerment of elderly people from all the kindred of the village in honour of his late mother, award of scholarships to indigent pupils of primary schools.
