The Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Chinyere Esther Onyekesi, has felicitated with Ndi Anambra on the new month of October and joined Nigerians in commemorating the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message issued on October 1, Onyekesi prayed for God’s continued protection, peace, prosperity and success for individuals, families and communities across Anambra State.
The commissioner urged Ndi Anambra to embrace the new month with renewed hope, faith and determination, expressing optimism that the collective efforts of citizens would translate into greater progress and prosperity.
She described Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary as an important occasion to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes past and the resilience of Nigerians, while stressing the importance of unity, peace, justice and collective responsibility in building a stronger nation.
Onyekesi said the welfare and protection of women, children and vulnerable persons remained a priority of her Ministry, assuring that efforts would be sustained towards creating a society where every woman, child and vulnerable citizen could live with dignity, security and opportunities to thrive.
She noted that under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, with the support of the First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the Ministry would continue to implement initiatives aimed at strengthening families, empowering women, protecting children and improving the wellbeing of vulnerable persons.
The commissioner called on Ndi Anambra and Nigerians to use the Independence celebration as an opportunity to renew their commitment to peaceful coexistence, responsible citizenship and community development.
She also encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly, show kindness to one another and remain hopeful for a more prosperous future.
Onyekesi wished Ndi Anambra a happy and fulfilling new month and Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary, praying that God would continue to bless, protect and prosper Anambra State and Nigeria.
