The Mayor of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon. Emeka Orji, has felicitated with residents of the council area as Nigeria marks its Independence Day anniversary.
In a goodwill message, Orji described the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s resilience and unity, while urging residents to support peace, community development and economic growth.
He said the council was committed to improving infrastructure, sanitation, environmental management, road maintenance and public safety in the area.
Orji called for continued cooperation among government, communities, traders, youths, women and other stakeholders to promote sustainable development in the council area.
He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining people oriented programmes and development initiatives across Onitsha South.
The mayor wished residents and Nigerians continued peace, progress and prosperity as the country marked its Independence Day.
