Anambra State is enjoying palpable peace and calm as Christians basking in the euphoria of the Eastertide, move about joyfully to be part of the celebration.
Emboldened by the tight security network of Governor Chukwuma Soludo,some communities hitherto hindered by the activities of the unknown gunmen, are engaged in some socio- cultural activities.
For the Medical Director,El- dorado Multi-Specialist Hospital, Awka, Prof.Chiemelu Emegoakor in a press statement in Awka on the Easter celebration, Christians should learn to forgive one another following the biblical example of Jesus Christ who forgave the thief on the cross of Calvary.
Prof.Emegoakor spoke of the imperatives of the Easter which should serve as a spring board for Christians to aspire to make Heaven.
He appreciated Governor Soludo for giving the state an unprecedented kind of leadership that has touched all sectors of the state economy,and expects the electorate to make a wise choice during the November 8th governorship election in the state.
The medical expert made a special reference to the advances made in the health sector by the governor and for the ongoing Ultra Modern Trauma Centre(Modern Emergency Complex) Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital Complex,Awka,the first of its kind in this part of the world courtesy of his administration.
He urged the governor to consolidate the centre when completed,by deploying experienced and competent manpower to drive its operations.
In another Easter message,the Medical Director, Chidubem Hospital,Okpuno,and a former Awka Zonal Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association Dr.Kanayo Onalu felicitated with Christians as they celebrate Easter and cautioned against abuse of alcohol and other unwholesome practices.
According to Dr.Onalu, moderation is the key towards celebration during the Eastertide.
On his part,one of the pioneer members of the Nigerian Medical Association in Anambra State and the nation at large, Dr.Cliff Okafor expects christians to be positive in their spiritual and physical lives.
