The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Sector Command, has trained staff of the Anambra State Ministry of Education on road safety best practices and the importance of obeying traffic rules.
The awareness program took place at the Ministry of Education Conference Hall, Jerome Udorji Secretariat Complex.

Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma Udeh, the ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, welcomed the FRSC team and praised the initiative. He described the program as timely, considering the high number of avoidable road accidents and encouraged staff to learn from the session and become more responsible road users.
The FRSC team was led by Superintendent Route Commander J.A. Francis, who urged participants to always assume that other road users may act irresponsibly, and therefore, take extra caution, emphasizing that most road accidents can be prevented if everyone follows traffic rules.

He also explained that simple vehicle checks like monitoring water and oil levels, and checking the fan belt each morning, are essential safety practices that drivers often ignore.
“Road crashes may not be completely eliminated, but we can reduce their severity by making road safety a habit. Every careless act on the road endangers not only you but other users as well. Human error is responsible for over 90% of road accidents, so following safety guidelines is critical.”

In her vote of thanks, Lady Ngozi Enemuo, Ag Director, Technical and Vocational Education Department commended the FRSC for taking the time to educate the ministry’s staff and urged her colleagues to apply the lessons learned in their daily lives.
The event featured an interactive session and a group photograph to mark the occasion.
