The wife of the Anambra East Mayor, Mrs. Chinwe Chinweze, has called on the women to maintain their role in the community development, empowerment, maintaining peace and security as well as addressing domestic violence.
Mrs Chinweze made the call during Anambra East Women Summit 2025 for empowering women for community development at Anambra East Council hall Otuocha, Aguleri.
She emphasized also on the importance of sports, good food on women’s health as championed by Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo.
The mayor’s wife, who joined Anambra East women to take solution message of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) led government to the grassroots, said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration has touched every part of the state with infrastructure and human capital development, saying that he deserved the votes of Ndi Anambra.
Mrs Chinweze highlighted the need for women to be aware of their responsibilities in promoting community growth.
The Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area, Sir Ifeanyi Chinweze stressed on the role of mothers which is maintaining peace and security, and also to monitor their children’s activities mostly not engage in criminal behavior.
He empowered Anambra East women with N4million for “ego mbido afia”, supporting small scale businesses and entrepreneurship.
Sir Chinweze also appreciated all the attendees, supervisors, traditional rulers and stakeholders.
The Anambra East women promoted women’s empowerment, community development and healthy living, making way for brighter future for women in Anambra East.
Lady Ify Atogu, National Coordinator/converner of Soludo women’s movement thanked the mayor’s wife for her efforts toward the progress of women in the area.
She urged women of anambra east to take solution message to every part of the local government, saying prof Soludo has done so well and that anambra east will vote massively for him.
