As part of the drive towards the development of the vast Mineral Resources of Anambra State for the sole purpose of Industrialization, Commercialisation and possible Exportation, a Company known as Byzantine Turnkey Limited has expressed interest to establish a framework of collaboration with Anambra State Government through Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company(ASSMDCL) to explore, mine, and produce Kaolin, Bentonite and other industrial minerals in the state, with a commitment to economic development, job creation, and market-driven profitability.
Led by it’s Chairman/CEO, Dr Michael Chukwujekwu, the Company will collaborate in establishing a Mining beneficiation, and production venture with a phased capacity increase, facilitate market uptake for Bentonite, Kaolin and other industrial Minerals products both locally and internationally, and ensure environmental sustainability inline with international best practices.
Dr Chukwujekwu, while expressing joy that Solid Minerals like Bentonite, Kaolin, Gravel pack etc are found in abundance in Anambra State, noted that his company will execute the venture and ensure full operational capacity of the mining, beneficiation and production plants within two years.
The Managing Director/CEO of Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company, Prof.Charles O.Ofoegbu while welcoming the partners assured them that his company will support the venture by ensuring enabling policies, tax incentives, and facilitation of necessary permits and licences.
Prof.Ofoegbu added that Anambra State Government through its agency is ready to allocate and ensure uninterrupted access to project land and feedstock from Bentonite, Kaolin and other industrial minerals deposit fields within Anambra State.
He emphasised that the project when actualized, will create 4,000 direct jobs and 7,000 indirect jobs for Ndi Anambra, increase the revenue generation of the state and infrastructural development.
