The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim has described Idemili North LGA as mini-Anambra State, saying that what Lagos State is to Nigeria is what Idemili North LGA is to Anambra State.
He made the remark during the event organized by diverse socio-political and business organisations for their endorsement of Gov. Soludo for a second term in office, which took place at Idemili North LGA Headquarters, Ogjdi on April 4, 2025
He said that as Gov. Soludo is sedulous as attested by his lofty achievements in diverse areas of governance he should be re-elected for a second term in office.
Earlier, the host of the event, the Idemili North LGA Chairman, Mr. Stanley Nkwoka, had welcomed the deputy governor, Dr. Ibezim, with a ram.
And a collection of 60,000 signatures of members of Anambra State Amalgamated Traders Association(ASMATA), Idemili North chapter, who endorsed Gov. Soludo for a second term in office, was handed over to Dr. Ibezim by Mr. Nkwoka.
In response, Dr. Ibezim made a promise that he would convey the traders’ message to Gov. Soludo.
Many groups, including ASATU Women Leaders, APGA Women Leaders, Divine Mandate Group, Artisan Women Group, and others, took turns to eulogize Gov. Soludo for his achievements in office and endorsed him for a second term in office.
Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Eze Iweka 111), who is the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers’ Council, led other traditional rulers from Idemili North to the event.
Igwe Iweka applauded Gov. Soludo for expediting the development of Anambra State and ridding the state of criminal elements while stating emphatically that a good performer should do an encore.
And in his vote of thanks, the Anambra State SSG, Prof. Solu Chukwulobe, expressed optimism that Idemili North LGA would punch its weight in the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election.
He urged the people of Ogidi to cast their votes for Gov. Soludo in the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election, as a mark of reciprocity to Gov. Soludo, who named the Anambra State Cargo Airport after their son, Chinua Achebe.
