The Universal Basic Education Commission Abuja in conjunction with the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board has flagged off the distribution of educational materials and tablets to primary and post primary schools in the state.
The gesture serves as an incentive to the schools to enhance teaching and learning.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo a special guest at the occasion at the ASUBEB Headquarters,Awka, highlighted the imperatives of education as key to the development of every nation.
According to Dr.Soludo, the passion to distribute the materials cannot be overemphasized in a fast growing global space.
She reiterated the determination of the Soludo administration to leverage on the gains of education to equip the schools.
The governor’s wife noted with delight the education friendliness of the Soludo administration and urged the benefitting schools to utilize the materials well.
She expects the citizenry to give their unalloyed support to the governor to deliver on his campaign promises.
In an address, the Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr.Vera Nwadinobi urged the benefitting schools to ensure full utilization of the distributed materials to enhance teaching and learning.
Dr.Nwadinobi commended Governor Soludo for his impactful educational policies which have given prominence to the education sector.
She assured the benefitting schools of government’s continued support of their activities.
In a remark, the head teacher of the Central School Mbaukwu, Mrs.Nwabuonwu Okeke commended UBEC and ASUBEB for distributing the educational materials which include White Magnetic Board,Computer set,books,etc.
Some of the dignitaries that graced the occasion included the state Commissioner for Education, Prof.Ngozi Chuma- Udeh, the State PPSSC Chairman, Prof.Nkechi Ikediugwu among others.
