The Anambra State Borehole Drillers Association (BODA), Awka Chapter, paid a courtesy visit to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Sylvia Chika Ifemeje.

The visit aimed to familiarize the Attorney General with the Association’s activities, apprise her of the challenges they face, and seek her legal guidance.

The state chairman of the Association, Sir Edet Solomon, while highlighting the challenges facing the group, emphasized the importance of conducting geophysical surveys before embarking on borehole drilling projects. He also urged the public to test their water to ensure it meets the required standards before consumption.

He urged drillers to use standard materials in borehole construction and avoid harmful chemicals during drilling. He also encouraged clients to pursue peaceful resolution in disputes with drillers, rather than resorting to legal action or other confrontational means. He further condemned the unlawful seizure of drilling equipment by clients, among other unprofessional practices.

Welcoming the group, Attorney General, Prof. Ifemeje advised them to maintain transparency and honesty in their dealings with clients, emphasizing that this would foster a better understanding between both parties.
