The Traditional Ruler of Ndiokpalaeze, Igwe Frederick Okoli has called for the recognition and elevation of the status of the African Child to measure up with their counterparts globally.

Igwe Okoli made the call in a press statement in Awka on this year’s International Day of the African Child (16th June 2025).

According to the royal father,African leaders should rise above parochial interests and put in place the enabling environment for the African Child’s status to be elevated.

The traditional ruler believes that accelerated advocacy in the welfare and education of the African Child is sine qua non to their enhanced tutelage as leaders of tomorrow.

He bemoaned the fate of the African Child as uncertain, bleak and degrading under the predominantly corrupt and uncaring leadership in the continent.

He expects that leaders in the continent should come to terms with reality and implement policies that will promote and preserve the rights of the African Child.
