As preparations gear up for the November 8, 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election, the Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation Office (ANCISRO) has called on all eligible citizens to prioritize their civic responsibility by actively participating in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
Addressing newsmen in Awka, the Managing Director of ANCISRO, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, emphasized that voter registration is not just a bureaucratic process but a fundamental act of civic responsibility that empowers the people to shape their future through the ballot.
“This is not a time to sit on the fence. Whether you seek to continue with the current leadership or desire a change, your first duty is to register and get your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC),” Sir Nnabuife said.
He described the 2025 election as a defining moment for Anambra and urged every eligible resident to take advantage of the ongoing registration opportunity provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“We must demonstrate that Anambra is not just awake, but fully active in democratic participation. Show up and get your PVC now, not tomorrow, not next month, now,” he declared.
Sir Nnabuife stressed that the strength of any democracy lies in the participation of its citizens, warning that failing to register and vote could, in the near future, carry legal or civic implications, especially as the country deepens its democratic values.
“Having a voter’s card may one day be more than just an election tool. It could become a measure of responsible citizenship. It is a right that comes with great responsibility,” he said.
While commending INEC’s efforts in past elections, the ANCISRO boss reminded citizens that credible elections start with credible voter data and an informed, prepared electorate.
“We want a process that reflects the will of the people. But that begins with each citizen stepping forward to register. No one should be left behind in this civic call to duty.
“Let every eligible Anambra resident rise to this responsibility. Register now. Let us prove that we are not only governed by law but also governed by our will to participate in shaping our collective destiny. This is what democracy demands and what our society deserves,” he advised.
