Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed joy on the infrastructural development spread over Onitsha South Local Government Area, especially the Fegge Specialist General Hospital constructed by his administration.
The Governor said he was surprised that a populated city such as Onitsha South would be existing without a general hospital.

According to him, We have broken one big jinx in this local government, that a local government like Onitsha South with huge population never had a general hospital was not good. No wonder I have heard you saying that what other governors in the state did combined are not up to what we have done in three years..
Governor Soludo said this at Godwin Achebe Stadium, Fegge during a political rally held by Onitsha South Constituents for his re-election.

He said, “Now you have a Specialist General Hospital for efficient healthcare. Your public schools have experienced extraordinary touch, your schools are the best in the Country. You now enjoy good infrastructures. I remember four years ago, I came here for campaign, through Port-Harcourt Road, it was like driving through the valley.
“But today I couldn’t believe it, that it is that same Onitsha South, the same Ziks Avenue, I drove through the popular Miss Elems, I drove several roads here and they are incredibly good now. Though we have some works to do at Uga and Bida roads but your Mayor will construct them.
“The pick pockets, touts, thugs must leave Onitsha South, if you don’t have something to do, we will train you and give you money to start afresh,” Soludo declared.
The governor expressed gratitude to Ndi Anambra for sponsoring his campaign, adding that such campaign has not been seen in the history of Nigeria.
He added that people have taken over the campaign by organizing rallies, saying that he has not spent any money for campaign.
“It is a divine project and a mass movement, all I have is gratitude, As we even go round, several communities, people , local governments, individuals contributing towards the campaign is something we have never seen before. Nigerians have never seen that before, I am humbled.
“We started free nursery and primary education to help the poor, we employed 8,115 best teachers in Nigeria and posted them to schools. It is right to give the poor a fresh and strong start, the children of the poor will grow in the future and become the champions of tomorrow, that is the foundation we are laying.
“All the text books using in our public, private and mission schools should be text books, they don’t write inside them, they must be text books that after using, it can be used by other siblings, pupils and students should not be buying text books every year, Christmas party and graduation have stopped in Anambra State.
“Petty traders, hawkers, vulcanizers truck and barrow pushers, loaders riders, no body should be collecting any money from these people, the poor will be allowed to work.
“Our free antenatal and child’s delivery in all government hospitals has benefitted over 170, 000 women, over 500 caesarian operation free of charge, this is for the poor to be lessened of their problems, not after relieving them, people would be collecting it from them.
“For Ndi Anambra to have contributed massively for this campaign, we now have resources to give prices, any ward that APGA won during governorship election will have #1M, the ward that came first position will have a cash prize of #5M, the ward that came 2nd will have #3M and the 3rd, #2M.
“Then in Anambra State out of the 21 LG, any LG that will come first position will have #10M then during the House of Assembly election, any ward that came first position will have #500, 000
