The Mayor of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, addressing a press briefing today, October 17, has categorically denied allegations of demolition and extortion levelled against his administration by some rice traders at Agba Edo Market in Nnewi.
Hon. Anazodo described the allegations as “false, unfounded, and a badly crafted, politically orchestrated propaganda.”
He emphasised that his administration has no plans to demolish structures or tax traders.
The Mayor highlighted developmental projects: Construction of access roads, drainage systems, shops, toilet facilities, were completed and handed over free, challenging exploited traders to come forward with receipts.
He attributed malicious allegations to the opposition’s desperation for political gain and urged them to eschew bad politics.
The Nnewi North LG Mayor reaffirmed support for Governor Soludo re-election.
