The incumbent Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, and his family have cast their votes with optimism that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will emerge victorious across all local government areas of the state.

Governor Soludo voted at Ofiyi Square, Polling Unit 002, Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, where he expressed confidence in his party’s performance while acknowledging the need to respect the electorate’s choice.
He stated that although many believe APGA faces little competition in the election, the party does not take the people’s support for granted.

Speaking to journalists after casting his vote, the Governor noted that while there were reports of minor hitches with the BVAS machines in some polling units—particularly in Olumbanasa—the overall process had been peaceful and orderly.
“The only issue of concern,” he said, “is the report that one political party has allegedly written results they intend to swap during collation. However, we are confident that the system will sort it out. We are vigilant, united, and will follow the process from the ward to the local government and state levels. Once the system works as expected, we have no doubt that APGA will win in all 21 LGAs.”

Governor Soludo also decried reports of massive vote-buying in Nnewi South LGA, but maintained optimism that APGA would still secure victory, noting that it remains the only party with strong representation across all parts of the state.
