Fourteen Communities of Aguata collectively endorsed Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for second tenure, donate N120M to facilitate campaign activities.
They made their position public at a political rally, on November 1, at Ekwulobia Township Stadium.
The Chairman, Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Chibueze Ofobuike while presenting the cheque said, “Governor Soludo has achieved what no other governor had achieved in 8 years, in less than 4 years. This is not unverifiable story but empirical story, so crystal that the blind, deaf, cripple/paralysis are attesting to it.
“Even most unreasonable person is not in doubt that Ekwulobia is no longer rural or semi urban but urban town.
“Amawbia, Agulu, Nanka, Ekwulobia, Uga to Imo State Road is indeed a federal road. One of those roads that was so bad that if you must use the road, you do your will, believing that your coming back is dependent on God. Soludo did not only attend to this road but dualized it to accommodate Ndi Anambra. He is indeed God sent to salvaging Ndi Anambra from governance problems.
“In view of Soludo’s superlative performance, the communities in Aguata LGA has come together to declare in one voice that our whole and entire votes come November 8 is for All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA)/Soludo, and no other.”
Receiving the cheque, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to Ndi Aguata for being supportive to his government.
He made it clear that the reason for wanting re-election is to consolidate on achievements made so far and develop Anambra State as promised ab initio.
“We have started with taking care of the children in the womb as we give their mothers free antenatal, delivery, even at cesarean point and postnatal.
“The free education from nursery to secondary level equip the child to becoming, in this computer age.
“When he gets to university, he gets bursary to making life worthwhile for him or herself.
“The Dubai Taiwan we talked about is gradually built as we develop human capital.
“1 Youth 2 Skills programme is yielding favourable results, as many youths are already engaged.
“We may not have achieved security eldorado yet Anambra State remains the safest in Nigeria today.
“We have not reached where we are going, yet we are no longer where we where.”
On the election coming up on Saturday, we have gone to all the local governments of Anambra State. The turnout of people in solidarity is overwhelming.
“Most communities had squeezed their selves hard to donating to our campaign. We have never seen this type of support in the history of Anambra State, if not Nigeria, yet we need not to relax unless the result is announced in our favour.
“Come out on November 8 alongside with your family members to vote. Open your eyes to making sure your vote counts. Remember, rat does not eat belongings of a person that is awake(Oke Anaghi Eri ihe Onye Mu Anya).
“Do not remain at home, play draft, football or other games, believing that Soludo has no opposition. See voting as your civic responsibility so as to have reasons to questioning bad governance.”
The occasion featured presence of Wife of the Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim and his wife Mrs Oluchi Ibezim.
Others are Ndi Igwe of all the communities, Presidenot General of all the communities, and other calibres too numerous to mention.
