The Mayor of Nnewi North Local Government Council, Echezona Anazodo, has on November 28, 2025, commenced urgent palliative repairs on a major road artery in the area.
The intervention covers the stretch from the Nnewi–Oba New Road (Traffic Light) through to the Igwe Orizu axis.
During an address to residents and stakeholders, Mayor Anazodo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure across Nnewi communities, with roads remaining a top priority. He noted that the repair works are intended to ease traffic flow and support commercial activities, especially as the festive season approaches.
Regular users of the route have equally commended the Mayor’s prompt action, describing it as a reassuring indication of further development efforts. Many expressed optimism that the intervention will bring meaningful relief to motorists and enhance overall mobility within the area.
