The Anambra State Physical Planning Board (ANSPPB) has carried out the demolition of illegal structures at the Electrical Parts Market, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area.

The exercise targeted unauthorized buildings, makeshift structures, shanties, and illegal attachments that were obstructing access roads and posing dangers to traders and shoppers within the market.
According to the Executive Secretary of the Physical Planning Authority (LPA), Idemili North, Mr. Stephen Egbe, the action became necessary after several removal notices issued to defaulters were ignored.

A Town Planner with the LPA, Mrs. Adaku Egwuonwu, described the demolition as timely, noting that many of the structures were built without government approval. She commended the ANSPPB Chairman/MD, Barr. Chike Mmaduekwe, for his leadership.
The exercise aligns with the vision of the Soludo-led administration to ensure a safe, orderly, and livable Anambra State.

Many traders welcomed the intervention. Mr. Emeka Ewulike and Mr. Arinze Nwaigwe, traders at the market, praised the state government for its swift response, saying the demolition will improve safety and free movement within the market.
