The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State Command Awka, Bridget Asekahuno, has emphasized the dangers of driving while drunk, saying that most recorded road crashes in Nigeria are said to have been caused by drunk driving which have led to the death of many.

These she said during the sensitization exercise that was organized by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Sector Command, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Awka aimed at reducing road traffic crashes and fatalities by 10% through data-driven intervention.

She urged drivers to desist from driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The NDLEA team leader Mrs. Priscilla Onyeka, highlighted the dangers associated with drug abuse which can lead to increase in fatality rates, family dependency and social liability.

14 drivers tested negative to alcohol using breathalyzers while the sensitization was going on at various motor packs which included Rivers Joy, Royal Mass Transit, Peace Mass Transit Motor parks in Awka.
