Training and retraining is key in staff development. The Anambra State Ministry of Information today, February 24, concluded a training for information officers to build their capacity in news editing, content creation, and news writing. The training was facilitated by selected active social media experts, and seasoned media professionals.
At the opening ceremony, Honorable Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, welcomed participants and advised them to utilize the training to improve their job performance. Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Oby Uchebo, encouraged participants to take the workshop seriously to enhance information dissemination at the grassroots.

Dr. Chinwe Chuka trained the participants on ‘Scriptwriting and the Art of Presentation’, focusing on script writing and effective presentation techniques. Uche Igboeli discussed ‘Social Media’, demonstrating how to share stories and engage with the Ministry’s online platforms. Obianuju Ume covered ‘Capcut’ with a practical demonstration, and Mr. Joseph Obumse discussed ‘Vox Pop’. Participants were advised to promote government projects and programmes consistently.
Expectation is that at the end of the training, the participants should put the skills garnered to use in order to enhance their work, engage their audience, and promote government initiatives effectively. They are to stay updated on industry trends, collaborate with colleagues, and continuously create impactful content.
