Feeding With Faith, a Houston, TX based Non-profit Organization centered around six fundamental principles – Trust, Transparency, Integrity, Compassion, Faith and Collaboration, has recently put smiles on the faces of vulnerable children in Amawbia.

The children numbering over 350 were given 5kg bag of rice each with food hampers containing cooked rice, gala and soft drink, while some received gifts for answering quizzes correctly.

The event took place at Geologist Sam Odumodu’s country home Amawbia, Awka South LGA, Anambra State.

Addressing the attendees, Chief Mrs Stella Odumodu, Founder of the Foundation said that the Foundation, which has thrived for 20 years but was officially registered in 2021, is committed to restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity to vulnerable children, women, and families. “Our work is rooted in the belief that no child should be forgotten and no family should be left behind.

“While food security remains central to our mission, Feeding With Faith takes a holistic approach to community transformation. We address immediate physical needs while also investing in long-term solutions that strengthen emotional well-being, economic stability, and family resilience.

“Our feeding programs provide consistent nourishment to children and families facing food insecurity, ensuring that basic needs are met with care and respect. Beyond food provision, we intentionally create environments where individuals are affirmed, supported, and reminded of their inherent value.

“In addition to feeding initiatives, we actively support skills acquisition for vulnerable women, equipping them with practical training that promotes self-reliance, confidence, and sustainable income generation. These programs are designed to empower women to strengthen their households and contribute meaningfully to their communities”.

According to her, the Foundation also operate small business empowerment initiatives, offering mentorship, guidance, and resources to individuals seeking to start or grow micro-enterprises. By fostering entrepreneurship and financial independence, we help reduce long-term dependency and build pathways toward economic stability.

Looking ahead, she said that the foundation continues to invest in the future through their Back-to-School programs, ensuring children from vulnerable backgrounds have access to essential school supplies, uniforms, and educational support. Education remains a critical pillar in breaking cycles of poverty and creating lasting change.

“Our objective is not simply to provide relief, but to restore dignity and cultivate hope through sustainable, faith-rooted action. We are committed to transparency, community partnership, and long-term impact as we expand our outreach across Nigeria.”

Earlier, Rev. Fr. Kingsley Ogonna Igboanugo, Assistant Manager, St. John of God Secondary School, Awka, residing at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Amawbia while urging the children to love one another as God loves them, enjoined them to desist from acts capable of destroying their future.

“I’m honored to be here today, and I’m blown away by the number of children – over 350! – who are happy and thriving in this program. Kudos to Geologist Sam Odumodu’s family for initiating this wonderful project, which has been running for over 15 years! You’re making a real difference in these kids’ lives, and it’s clear that parents trust you with their children’s well-being. God bless you for spreading joy and love. May this inspire others to start similar initiatives, and may you continue to receive the resources and grace to keep this going.”

Master Akachukwu Joshua Okolo, a student under scholarship said,”I’m grateful to Mrs. Odumodu for awarding me a scholarship last year and this year. She saw my curiosity and desire to learn, and she’s been supporting me. I pray that God grants her long life, prosperity, and more blessings. Her children will live to see their great-grandchildren. I’m currently in JSS3 at Comprehensive Science and Technical College, Nawfia. Thank you, ma’am, for being a blessing to our community!”

Children dance, tug of war, Bible quiz, others added glamour to the event.
