Awka South Local Government Area workers have been charged to remain steadfast in their commitment to duty and to work in unity for the progress of the council.
The new Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Mr. Clement Ananti, made this call during an interactive session with staff at the Awka South LGA Secretariat podium.
He emphasized that as a pilot local government, Awka South must set the standard for others to follow.
Mr. Ananti cautioned against absenteeism, noting that workers must be diligent in their responsibilities, especially with the commission’s upcoming on-the-spot visit.

He urged staff to adhere strictly to civil service rules and procedures, assuring them of open dialogue to move the council forward.
“I believe where there is peace, progress follows Heads of departments should create schedules of duty and maintain movement registers to keep staff engaged and productive,” he said.
In her vote of thanks the NULGE Chairperson, Mrs. Ifeoma Agu, expressed gratitude to the new HLGA for finding it worthy to interact with the staff. She commended his efforts to foster harmony and strengthen working relationships for the overall development of workers.
The interactive session was chaired by various heads of departments at the Awka South LGA Secretariat.
