Anambra State keyed into the vision of the master minders of the international Women’s day celebration commemorated every 8th of March.
The Governor’s wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo announced that the month of March is dedicated to women and as such, Anambra State chose to host the women’s summit on March 6 to celebrate Anambra Women.
In a speech at the occasion celebrated at the APGA Regional Secretariat Complex Awka, the governor’s wife reiterated that women should be celebrated in all ramifications as home builders.
According to her, happy mothers beget happy families and a happy society.
Dr Soludo saluted women’s courage and support in voting massively for Governor Chukwuma Soludo who secured a ticket for a second term in office.
She spoke of the determination of the present administration to elevate the status of women and further empowered some women with various working equipment.
The Woman Leader of APGA, Mrs. Esther Onyekesi elaborated on the theme of the summit,”Empower Her, Elevate All’ and urged women to remain focused in the discharge of their motherly roles in the society.
In her remarks, the Woman Leader of APGA in Ogbaru LGA, Mrs. Chinyere Ndubuisi enjoined women to always work toward being ideal mothers in their homes and in the larger society.
She commended the Governor’s wife, Dr. Soludo for being a shinning example for women, and for championing their cause in the state and beyond.
Mrs. Ndubuisi expressed joy that the Ogbaru LGA came 1st in the march past held during the summit and acknowledged the efforts of the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. SomtoChukwu Udeze and others for their support.
She used the forum to congratulate Governor Soludo as he prepares to take the oath of office on the March 17.
In another remark, the Woman Leader for Awka North LGA, Hon. Mrs. Uche Ozoemena also called on women to be role models in the society and used the forum to commend the Governor’s wife Dr. Soludo for her support for women.
Hon. Ozoemena expressed delight in the second position secured by the Awka North LGA in the march past and commended the Mayor of Awka North LGA Hon.ThankGod Anagor and others for their support.
The Woman Leader further congratulated Governor Soludo warming up to be sworn in for a second term in office.
Contributing, the Woman Leader for Nnewi North LGA, Mrs. Uche Onweluzo also charged women to remain relevant in the society and further commended the governor’s wife for her supportive role for women in the society.
