As the world marks the International Day of Play, Anambra State is making significant strides in promoting recreation, sports and child development through the initiatives of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
One of the key projects is Solution Fun City, Awka, a modern recreational centre that provides children and families with a safe and enjoyable environment for leisure. The facility hosted the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, attracting thousands of children.
The administration has also revived the Anambra State School Sports Festival after more than a decade, creating opportunities for students to discover and develop their sporting talents.

Through the Anambra Sports Solution Initiative (ANSSI), students across the state participate in athletics, basketball, chess, tennis, taekwondo and other sporting activities that promote healthy living and teamwork.
In addition, ongoing investments in parks, recreational centres and sports facilities are helping to provide safe spaces for children and young people to play, learn and interact.

As the International Day of Play highlights the importance of recreation in children’s growth and well-being, these initiatives demonstrate Anambra State’s commitment to raising a healthier, more active and productive generation.
