St. Joseph Cathedral, Aguleri, was filled with praise and thanksgiving as 28 Catholic priests ordained in 2001 from three Catholic dioceses in Anambra State celebrated the 25th anniversary of their priestly ordination with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass and reunion.
The Silver Jubilee celebration, held over the weekend, brought together the jubilarians, former seminary formators, family members, friends, and well-wishers in a joyful atmosphere of gratitude to God for His faithfulness and sustaining grace throughout their 25 years of priestly ministry.
Activities began with a reunion at the country home of Chief Sir Primus Odili, Mgbologu Okosisi Aguleri, a member of the 2001 seminary formation class who later embraced a different vocation. The gathering offered former classmates an opportunity to reconnect, reminisce about their years of formation, and celebrate the enduring bond they have shared over the years.

The Thanksgiving Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral was presided over by the pioneer Catholic Bishop of Aguleri Diocese, Most Rev. Dennis Chidi Isizoh, with the 28 jubilarians concelebrating the Eucharistic celebration.
In his homily, Bishop Isizoh commended the priests for their unwavering commitment to God’s service and praised the spirit of unity, brotherhood, and generosity that marked the celebration. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in their priestly vocation and continue serving God and humanity with dedication.

Speaking during the event, Chief Sir Primus Odili described the Silver Jubilee as a testament to God’s enduring mercy and faithfulness. He expressed gratitude that all members of the 2001 seminary formation class both those who became priests and those who pursued other vocations are still alive 25 years later.
A major highlight of the celebration was the presence of the priests’ former seminary rectors and spiritual directors, who witnessed with pride the Silver Jubilee of those they had mentored during their years of formation. The occasion was further enriched by the specially designed liturgical vestments worn by the jubilarians and their formators, symbolising their shared commitment to the priestly vocation and the unity that has sustained them over the years.
The celebration concluded with a colourful reception featuring cultural performances, entertainment, and prayers, as guests joined the jubilarians in thanking God for 25 years of faithful priestly ministry, enduring friendship, and unwavering dedication to the Church.
