The Provost, College Of Medicine, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka, Professor Lawrence Ikeako has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Chukwuma Soludo for giving a facelift and upgrading the status of the College of Medicine of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka.
In a press briefing in Awka, Prof Ikeako acknowledged the input of government in ensuring the full accreditation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University by the National Universities Commission which graduated scores of medical doctors in the last convocation ceremony of the institution.
The Provost commended Mr. Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for providing a transformer and other facilities to facilitate operations in the medical college .
He announced that arrangements are being put in place to stage an induction of the graduated medical students to enroll them into the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria to give them the operational licence to function as medical doctors.
He appreciated the substantive Vice Chancellor of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Kate Omenugha and the governing council of the University for their efforts in upgrading the College of Medicine.
