The Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Dr. Augustine Ezeka, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the ongoing transformation in the state’s primary healthcare sector, describing the reforms as a clear reflection of the administration’s commitment to quality and accessible healthcare delivery.
Dr. Ezeka gave the commendation at the Primary Healthcare (PHC) Leadership Challenge Fund Award Ceremony held on June 17, at the Banquet Hall, Lighthouse, Awka.
The event brought together key stakeholders in the health sector, including the Wife of the Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo; the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake; the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Obiageli Uchebo; and the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, among other stakeholders.
According to Dr. Ezeka, the improvements witnessed in primary healthcare across Anambra State are the result of deliberate investments in health infrastructure, workforce support, and expanded access to services under Governor Soludo’s administration. He noted that these interventions are already yielding measurable benefits for residents across the state.
He further described the award ceremony as a recognition of excellence in primary healthcare service delivery, adding that it serves as motivation for healthcare workers to sustain higher standards in service delivery and innovation at the grassroots level.
Dr. Ezeka reaffirmed Anambra State Health Insurance Agency’s commitment to supporting the state government’s health agenda, particularly in ensuring that all residents have access to affordable and quality healthcare through an expanded health insurance system.
The event concluded with renewed calls for collaboration among stakeholders to further strengthen primary healthcare delivery across Anambra State.
