Renowned philanthropist and community leader, Chief Primus Ugochukwu Odili, hosted beneficiaries of his educational scholarship programme for the first time at his country home in Aguleri in a memorable gathering that celebrated years of sustained investment in education and youth development.
The scholarship scheme, which has been running successfully for several years, currently supports 30 secondary school students drawn from different communities. According to the programme coordinators, who presented their report during a meeting chaired by His Royal Majesty, Igwe Michael Idigo, on August 1, 12 of the 30 beneficiaries recently sat for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), successfully completing their secondary education.
The coordinators explained that the visit was organised to provide Chief Odili and his wife, Lolo Maureen Odili, with the opportunity to meet the scholarship beneficiaries in person for the first time since the inception of the programme.
The gathering also enabled parents of the beneficiaries to meet the benefactor whose generosity has continued to make their children’s education possible. It marked a significant milestone as Chief and Lolo Odili formally welcomed the beneficiaries and their families to their home.

Speaking during the event, Chief Odili expressed delight at meeting the students and encouraged them to remain committed to their academic pursuits. He reaffirmed his unwavering dedication to expanding access to education, promoting youth empowerment, and supporting community development through the scholarship initiative.
In their separate remarks, the beneficiaries and their parents expressed profound appreciation for the life-changing opportunities created through Chief Odili’s selfless investment in the education and future of young people.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were His Royal Majesty, Igwe Johnson Mbanefo; the President-General of Aguleri, Hon. Chike Nwabia; former Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Chief Marcel Ifejiofor; Prof. Charles Ochie; parents of the beneficiaries; the students; and other distinguished guests.
