The newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ASPHCDA), Dr. Chizoba Prisca Ezeasor, has assumed office with a call for staff commitment, discipline, accountability and a strong sense of responsibility in delivering quality primary healthcare services to residents.

Dr. Ezeasor made the call on Aug. 11, at the ASPHCDA office complex during her official assumption of duty as Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Agency.

She said she was ready to work with the management and staff, urging them to bring their experience, ideas and honest counsel to the task of strengthening primary healthcare delivery across the state.

“Our ultimate responsibility is to the people of Anambra State. We must do everything within our capacity to ensure that our people, especially mothers, children, the elderly and vulnerable members of our communities, have access to quality primary healthcare.

“I believe that if we work together as one team, support one another and remain focused on our common goal, we can achieve great things,” she said.

The Executive Secretary paid tribute to the late Executive Secretary of ASPHCDA, Dr. Obianuju Chinelo Okoye, for her contributions to primary healthcare development in Anambra State.

She called for a moment of silence and prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul.

Ezeasor expressed appreciation to the visiting priest, Rev. Fr. Tobechukwu Odika, for the prayers and blessings, noting that placing God at the centre of their work would provide the guidance, wisdom and strength needed to make sound decisions and achieve the agency’s goals.

Welcoming the new Executive Secretary on behalf of the management and staff, the Director of Community Health Services, Dr. Ngozi Okeke, assured her of the workforce’s support, commitment and dedication.

She said staff would deploy their experience and expertise towards advancing the agency’s mandate, improving health outcomes across Anambra State.

In his prayers and blessings, Rev. Fr. Odika thanked God for Ezeasor’s appointment and prayed for wisdom, protection and success for her and the staff as they begin a new phase in the administration of the agency.

He prayed that their service would positively impact the lives of residents and contribute to taking primary healthcare delivery in Anambra State to greater heights.
