The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Aug. 24 has introduced an online system enabling 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home.

The new service currently covers results obtained from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), while results from other examination bodies will be incorporated subsequently.

The development means candidates will no longer be required to visit Computer Based Test (CBT) centres to upload their O’Level results, particularly during peak admission periods.

JAMB’s Acting Director, public Affairs and Protocol Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the new system would enable the board to verify candidates’ results directly with WAEC before uploading them to their JAMB profiles.

Benjamin said the initiative was designed to make the process faster, safer and more convenient, while reducing cases of misplaced certificates, fraudulent results and errors associated with manual data entry.

He explained that candidates only needed to visit the designated result verification portal to obtain a verification code, after which JAMB would complete the process electronically.

The Acting Director said the innovation was part of the customer focused agenda of JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, aimed at leveraging technology to reduce unnecessary visits, queues and paperwork for millions of Nigerian students.
