After months of research, writing and revisions, final year students of the Department of Business Education, Nwafor Orizu College of Education (NOCEN), Nsugbe, have taken a major step towards graduation with the successful defence of their research projects.
The defence, held on Sept. 18, gave the students the opportunity to present their findings before examiners, defend their research approaches and demonstrate how lessons from the classroom could be applied to real world business and educational challenges.
For many of the students, the exercise marked the culmination of months of consultations with supervisors, data gathering, analysis and preparation turning academic ideas into research projects they could confidently defend.

During the session, the students responded to questions and observations from the examiners, demonstrating knowledge of research methodology, analytical reasoning and key principles of Business Education.
The Head of the Department, Dr. Chinwe S. Okeke, commended the students for their commitment and perseverance throughout the research process.
She acknowledged the contributions of lecturers and project supervisors, whose guidance and mentorship helped the students navigate the demands of their research work.
Dr. Okeke said the successful defence reflected the department’s commitment to academic excellence, research development and the preparation of graduates with relevant knowledge and practical skills.
She noted that the research experience would strengthen the students’ analytical, problem solving and professional abilities as they prepare to enter the world of work and contribute to society.
The successful defence marked an important academic milestone for the graduating students, bringing them closer to completing their programmes and beginning the next chapter of their professional lives.
