The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to Christians across the state, declaring that the resurrection of Jesus Christ remains the cornerstone of the Christian faith.
In his Easter message, Udeze emphasized that without the resurrection, the foundation of Christian belief would be incomplete, but because He rose, believers are empowered to face life’s trials with renewed strength and unwavering hope.

“Easter is not just a date on the calendar; it is the ultimate symbol of victory over death, sin, and despair. It is a season that radiates the highest joy of salvation and reminds us that no grave is deep enough to bury the purpose of God.”
Echoing the ancient proclamation,“Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!”, Rt. Hon. Udeze called on Christians to draw closer to Christ, both spiritually and emotionally, and to live in the transformative power of His resurrection.
He reminded all that the true message of Easter lies in Christ’s boundless love for humanity, a love that conquers hate, dispels wickedness, and invites us into righteousness.
The Speaker urged Christians to let the lessons of Easter take root in their hearts: to rise above evil, resist temptation, foster unity, and promote peace within their communities.
“As we celebrate this holy season, may the blessings of Easter touch every life, heal every wound, and inspire us to be vessels of light in a world that deeply needs it.”
He also prayed for Ndi Anambra, that the hope, joy, and peace of Easter will uplift the hearts of all, especially those suffering in mind, body, or spirit.
