The Solution Youth Movement Of Nigeria (SYMON) , whose coordinator is Comrade Gideon Chukwuebuka Nwobosi, has rallied support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second term bid by organizing a friendly football match.

The football match, which pitted the Idemili North LGA FC against Aguata LGA FC, took place at the play field of the Union Secondary School, Obosi on August 3, 2025.

The pulsating and tension-soaked friendly match, which had all the trappings of a Nigerian league match, ended in a barren draw, with Idemili North LGA FC dominating both halves of the match.

The skillful Idemili North LGA Football club’s strikers were wasteful in front of the Aguata LGA FC’s goal area; however, their shots, which were on target, were saved by the goalkeeper of the Aguata LGA FC.

Speaking at the football event, Hon. Izuchukwu Okafor, who is the Anambra State Commissioner for Finance and the special guest of honour at the event, said that the reason for organizing the friendly football match was to galvanize support for Governor Soludo’s electioneering.

“It is a solidarity and friendly match. So neither of the teams would be given prizes. We are using this friendly football match to mobilize the youths to support Governor Soludo’s second term bid.

“Therefore, on November 8, 2025, I would like you to come out en masse and vote for Governor Soludo so that he can continue his good works.

“Interestingly, all the three senatorial zones in the state have unanimously conferred the title of ‘Oluatuegwu’ on him, which is a testament to his sterling performance in office, so far,” Okafor said.

Speaking further, Hon. Okafor, who was overawed and fascinated by the splendid and heroic performance of the Aguata LGA FC’s goal tender, gave the goalie a cash gift of N20,000 in addition to giving N200,000 each to the two teams.

More so, the coordinator of SYMON for Idemili North LGA, Comrade Nwobosi, said that Governor Soludo’s electioneering is actuated by the youths’ vitality, versatility, creativity, and strength, while expressing optimism that Governor Soludo would emerge triumphant in the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship slugfest in order to continue doing his good works.

“Governor Soludo’s campaign movement is powered by the youths’ vigour, vitality, creativity, and strength. And come November 8, he will trounce his political opponents at the polls to continue doing his good works,” Nwobosi said.

He thanked the Anambra State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Okafor, for attending the event, saying that his presence at the event inspired and encouraged the youths not to relent on supporting Governor Soludo.

The SYMON coordinator presented a baseball cap emblazoned with the group’s acronym, SYMON, to Hon. Okafor, which underscored Okafor’s eminence and relevance in the group.

Comrade Nwobosi, thereafter, vowed that the group would not let Hon. Okafor down.

“Your presence here has emboldened and encouraged us. So I am assuring you that we will not let you down. I am giving you the assurance that the people of Idemili North LGA will vote for Governor Soludo on November 8, 2025,” Nwobosi said.
