Hon. Chike Ibegbu has outlined his contributions to waste management and youth empowerment in Onitsha North, citing ongoing initiatives aimed at improving environmental conditions and creating economic opportunities.

Waste disposal remains a concern in parts of the constituency, with residents affected by poor sanitation and inadequate systems. Ibegbu said his collaboration with the Anambra State Government has led to job creation and increased participation in recycling programmes.

According to him, more than 30 youths have been engaged under the OSHA Recycling 2.0 Project, where participants are trained and supported to build livelihoods through recycling. He added that many beneficiaries have expanded the initiative by bringing in others.

He further said that over 44 youths are currently undergoing training under the OSHA Recycling 3.0 Project, which focuses on skills development and employment opportunities.

Ibegbu also noted his role as a master trainer in the “1 Youth 2 Skills” programme, an initiative of the state government designed to equip young people with vocational skills and business support.

He emphasized the need for improved drainage systems, cleaner surroundings, and sustainable infrastructure, saying that continued investment in these areas is essential to public health and community development.
