As Anambra joins the rest of the World to celebrate 2026 International Workers’ Day, the Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has said that his administration will prefer to work with the people rather than having the whole lot of development strategy commencing and ending on his table.

Gov. Soludo said that a Public Private Practice (PPP) would guarantee everybody focusing on how to create opportunities and follow them up when established rather than staying aloft and watching public amenities wear out without been put to good use.

The governor who was responding to labour demands after the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Anambra State Council, Comrade Humphrey Nwafor came off the podium after making his speech at Alex Ekwueme’s Square, Awka, venue of the celebration of the workers’ day in the state, welcomed all to this years celebration.

He urged the labour leaders to assist the government in creating the environment for development and the workers to sit in and do their duties in their respective duty posts while eschewing lateness and absence to duty which according to him is eroding the beauty of public service.

He said that his administration would be recruiting more teachers and more health workers, a move that would further put the future of the state in a better pedestal for stronger development.

The governor said, “education and health are Anambra’s future, and must be prioritized”.

While addressing the gathering the State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Nwafor praised the Soludo administration for its pro-workers policies and called for accelerated action on improved working conditions across all sectors.
