The newly commissioned E-Automobile Mechanic Workshop at the Anaocha Local Government headquarters in Neni is expected to enhance vehicle diagnostic and repair services while promoting technical skills development in the area.

The facility, commissioned on May 21, 2026, is one of the flagship projects under the Greater Anaocha Agenda and the Anaocha Solution Integrated Development Strategy (ANSIDS) of the Executive Chairman of Anaocha Local Government Area, Hon. Romanus Ibekwe, in line with the Anambra State Government’s grassroots development agenda.

Residents said the workshop would position Anaocha as an emerging automobile service hub, reducing the need for motorists to travel to Awka, Enugu, Onitsha, Asaba and Nnewi for quality vehicle diagnostics and repairs.

Speaking with Information Officers, a retired teacher and resident of Neni, Mr. Obinna Onwuka, described the facility as a welcome development that would save residents the time and cost of travelling long distances to repair their vehicles.

Also speaking, Mr. Ejike Offordume said the initiative aligns with the global drive to build smart communities equipped with modern technological infrastructure.

According to Offordume, the workshop is designed to diagnose, maintain and repair electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and other technologically advanced automobiles using modern diagnostic equipment, specialised software and safety tools.

A staff member of the Anaocha Local Government, Mr. Bright Okoli, said the facility would also serve as a skills acquisition and technical training centre for youths, aspiring technicians and mechanical engineers.

Okoli said trainees would acquire practical knowledge in modern vehicle diagnostics, repair systems, software applications and other advanced technical operations, equipping them with relevant skills for the evolving automobile industry.

He expressed optimism that the workshop would promote technological advancement, create employment opportunities and contribute to the socio economic development of Anaocha Local Government Area.
