The Mayor of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, has carried out an urgent intervention on the deteriorating culvert linking F-Line Market within the bustling Nkwo Nnewi commercial axis.
The damaged culvert had become a major concern for traders, commuters, and residents who rely on the route daily for business activities, transportation, and easy access to different sections.

The intervention was initiated to restore safe passage, improve accessibility, and prevent further deterioration of the infrastructure, especially during the ongoing rainy season when flooding poses significant challenges.
Residents and market stakeholders expressed appreciation to the Mayor for responding promptly to their concerns, describing the intervention as timely, people-oriented, and beneficial to commercial activities within the market.
Speaking on the project, Hon. Anazodo said the rehabilitation aligns with Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s infrastructure development agenda focused on improving roads, drainage systems, and public facilities across Anambra State.
He noted that functional infrastructure remains essential for economic growth, ease of movement, environmental sustainability, and the continued prosperity of businesses operating within Nnewi North and surrounding communities.
The Mayor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing critical infrastructure needs through timely interventions that enhance public safety, support commerce, and improve the overall living conditions of residents.
Community members expressed optimism that the rehabilitated culvert will facilitate smoother movement of people and goods while reducing the risks associated with the previously damaged structure during heavy rainfall.
The intervention forms part of ongoing developmental efforts by the Anazodo-led administration to strengthen infrastructure, promote economic activities, and complement the Solution Agenda of the Anambra State Government.
